In general, safety valves are pressure relief valves
- Relief valve: it is designed to relieve excess pressure to prevent the system. It is generally used in liquid system. It is also used in pumped system.
- Safety valve: it is used with compressible gases, mainly the steam and air. They are used to protect the plant and prevent the spoilage of the product.
- Safety relief valve: it can be applied for the gas system as well as liquid system.
Other types of valves are defined on the basis of their construction designs and applications. The safety relief valves are available with variety of configurations.
Our Safety Valve Manufacturing Process
Step 1: Raw Material Selection & Grading
We do not compromise on base materials. All our safety valves start with high-grade Stainless Steel (SS 304, SS 316) and Carbon Steel (WCB) sourced from certified foundries. We perform rigorous Chemical Analysis to ensure material composition meets ASTM standards.
Step 2: Precision Casting & Forging
Our valve bodies undergo Investment Casting (Lost Wax Process) for complex geometries or Closed Die Forging for high-pressure applications. This ensures zero porosity and maximum structural integrity.
Step 3: CNC Machining
Raw castings are finished on CNC Lathes and VMC Machines to achieve tight tolerances. This precision machining ensures perfect seat alignment, critical for the valve’s ‘Pop Action’.
Step 4: Lapping & Seat Grinding
To achieve Bubble-Tight Shutoff, our valve seats undergo optical flat lapping. We ensure a surface finish of less than 0.5 microns, preventing leakage even at 90% of set pressure.
Step 5: Assembly & Setting
Valves are assembled in a clean-room environment. We install Inconel X-750 Springs for high-temperature stability. The ‘Set Pressure’ is calibrated to your exact requirements.
Step 6: Rigorous Testing (The Most Important Keyword Section)
Every valve undergoes 100% testing:
Hydrostatic Body Test: 1.5x the design pressure to check for shell strength.
Seat Leakage Test: Performed as per API 256 standards using air/nitrogen.
Pneumatic Test: To verify set pressure accuracy.
Step 7: Final Inspection & Certification
We provide Material Test Certificates (MTC 3.1), Hydro Test Reports, and Third-Party Inspection (TPI) clearance upon request.

SAFETY VALVE DESIGN
Design of the safety valves is varied as per applications. For example the applications like compressed air systems, the safety valves do not have an outlet connection but the liquid is directly vented to the atmosphere. Pattern of the valve contains right angle body. It contains nozzle [full- nozzle or semi nozzle] for inlet connection and outlet connection screwed or flanged. According to the uses, safety valves contain hood or adjustable blowdown rings. Design can be varied in dimensions, capacities and inlet-outlet connection sizes.
